A 17 years old boy presents with a history of severe daytime somnolence associated with poor school performance and episodes of sudden collapse triggered by strong emotions or laughter. He also reports recurrent episodes of sleep paralysis and visual hallucinations on awakening. Physical exam is normal. What are the most important differential diagnoses?
