- Shock
- Allergy, anaphylaxis
- Erythema and edema
- Tonsillitis, pharyngitis
- Bee stings and insect bites
- Cystitis with burning, stinging urination
Constitutionally for irritability, people who are overprotective, jealous, suddenly angered when pestered (“queen bee” personality)
Key notes:
- Stinging pains
- Edema and erythema
- Thirstless
Modalities:
< cold
< heat, pressure, bending forward
For shock, dDx. Aconite (< cold, wind), Arnica (> alone), Carbo-veg (wants to be fanned, > cold), Cinchona (> warm, bending over), Veratrum album (< cold)
For insect bites or stings, dDx. Ledum (chilly but > cold applications), Urtica (< cold)
For cystitis, dDx. Cantharis (burning pain, > cold), Equisetum (urethral cutting pain, < movement), Medorrhinum (onset after new sexual relationship, > night), Staphysagria (burning pain, > heat)
For thirstlessness, dDx. Belladonna (high fever, < heat, motion, lying down), Gelsemium (fever, > continual motion), Ipecac (< warm), Lycopodium (> passing gas), Pulsatilla (< cold)
