Baptisia tinctoria (wild indigo) is an antimicrobial and immunomodulator.

Indications:

  • General infections
  • Pharyngitis, tonsillitis
  • Mastitis

Contraindications:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Long term use

Interactions:

  • None

From a pharmacology perspective, beta-lactam inhibitors (Penicillin, Cefdinir, Cephalexin) protein synthesis inhibitors (Clindamycin, Doxycycline), and nucleic acid inhibitors (Ciprofloxacin, Azithromycin, Sulfamethoxazole-Trimethoprim) are useful in treating infections.
