Constitutional hydrotherapy – What are the indications and contraindications?

Indications:
- Heat: chronic inflammation, muscle tension, immunsuppression
- Cold: acute inflammation, trigger points, hyperthyroidism (application over the thyroid)
- Contrast: chronic inflammation, arthritis, infection, immunosuppression, circulatory insufficiency
Contraindications:
- Hypoesthesia
- Heat: acute inflammation, fever, edema, malignant disease, hemorrhage, CHF, peripheral vascular disease, MS, DM
- Cold: heart disease, thermoregulatory problems, Raynaud’s syndrome, cutaneous infections
- Contrast: heart disease, Raynaud’s syndrome
