Glenohumeral Apprehension Test: Client is seated or supine. Practitioner abducts the arm to 90° and flexes the elbow, slowly internally and externally rotating the shoulder

Purpose:

  • Assess stability of the glenohumeral joint

Indications:

  • Suspected shoulder dislocation
  • Ligament laxity

Relevance:

  • Positive test – client apprehension is indicative of instability of the glenohumeral joint
