Sn. & Sx.:
- Dry cough
- Dyspnea
- Dysphagia
- Stridor
- Thyroid sensitive to touch
- Palpable thyroid without nodularity
dDx.:
- Thyroiditis
- Toxic adenoma, multinodular goiter
- Thyroid cancer
Sequelae:
- Airway obstruction
- Multinodular goiter
- Thyrotoxicosis
Work up:
- Thyroid function tests
- Imaging (ultrasound)
Tx.:
- Radioactive iodine therapy
- Surgical resection
