Minor’s sign – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?

Purpose:
- Assess for nerve compression or disc involvement
Indications:
- Sciatic
- Low back pain
Relevance:
- Positive test – difficulty rising, use of upper body to facilitate rising is indicative of disc pathology
