Morton’s (forefoot squeeze) test – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?

Purpose:
- Assess for impingement of the branches of the deep peroneal nerve due to neuroma or stress fracture
Indications:
- Foot pain or trauma
Relevance:
- Positive test – pain or reproduction of neurological symptoms is indicative of Morton’s neuroma
