Perioral dermatitis is an inflammatory condition, predominantly seen in women, occurring around the lips and sometimes around the eyes.

Sn. & Sx.:

  • Discrete erythematous micropapules
  • Inflammatory plaques on the perioral and periorbital skin

dDx.:

  • Dermatitis
  • Rosacea
  • Acne vulgaris

Sequelae:

  • Impaired social and occupational functioning

Work up:

  • Clinical exam

Tx.:

  • Topical metronidazole
