Posterior Drawer Test: Client is supine with hip flexed to 45° and the knee flexed to 90°. Practitioner stabilizes the thigh while pushing the shin posteriorly and assesses for posterior translation of the tibia

Purpose:

  • Assess for posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tear

Indications:

  • Knee injury

Relevance:

  • Positive test – anterior translation of the tibia is indicative of PCL injury
