Reduction click – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?

Reduction Click: Client is supine, practitioner flexes the knee to 90° and then brings the leg into extension with internal and external rotation

Purpose:

• Assess for meniscus injury

Indications:

• Restricted range of motion in the knee
• Knee injury

Relevance:

• Positive test – palpable or audible click with extension is indicative of meniscus injury
