Shoulder depression test – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?

Purpose:
- Assess for nerve root compression or brachial plexus lesion
Indications:
- Cervical, shoulder or upper limb pain
Relevance:
- Positive test – increased pain is indicative of nerve root compression
