Soto-Hall test – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?

Soto-Hall Test: Client is supine. Practitioner flexes the neck, attempting to touch their chin to their chest.

Purpose:

  • Assess for cervical spine injury

Indications:

  • Cervical pain

Relevance:

  • Positive test – ‘lightening-like’ pain with neck flexion is indicative of cervical injury
