Telescoping test – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?
December 31, 2020 7:35 amTelescoping Test: Client is supine. Practitioner flexes the hips and knees to 90°, placing downward pressure on the knee, pushing the femur into the examining table.
Purpose:
- Assess for dislocation of the hip
Indications:
- Hip trauma
Relevance:
- Positive test – excessive movement is indicative of dislocation.
