Yeoman’s test – What is the purpose, indication and relevance?
December 31, 2020 8:49 amYeoman’s Test: Client is prone. Practitioner flexes the client’s knee at 90° and places one hand under the knee and lifts, to hyper-extend the hip, while the other hand is on the ipsilateral PSIS.
Purpose:
- Assess for anterior sacroiliac ligament pathology or lumbar irritation
Indications:
- Low back pain
Relevance:
- Positive test – pain in the sacroiliac joint or lumbar region is indicative of anterior sacroiliac ligament pathology or lumbar facet irritation
